Why does my cat suck on a blanket?

I mean it's really adorable, but I was just wondering why he does it. He has this really soft blanket that he likes to knead, I've seen other cats do that before. But he actually gathers the blanket in his mouth and sucks on it while he kneads it, and I've never seen another cat do that before.
